Merry Christmas!

Christmas is coming, so I decided to make this little short (non-minecraft) animation, simple yet I find it a good one so Merry Christmas to any and all!

Galaxy Project, island #4 (part 3)

I've been working on the island and can say that am almost done, all I need to do is some command blocks and chests and the island will be 100% complete, but only the island itself as the challenge goes further then just one simple big island, below is a little overview of how it looks, although it's hard to see through vanilla glass, the white lines cover up the inside, but tried my best to show as much as possible with the correct angle, despite the spirals from night vision.

Galaxy porject, island #4 (part 2)

I did some more work, and went forward by a mile, ~75% of the island itself is already done, but the challenge of the island itself is done maybe in 30%, after all, the island is the same size as the lighthouse one, so I want the challenge to take ~2 hours to complete, this is not a short map to finish in a couple of seconds. 'll provide a screenshot of what I got soon, but currently the world isn't available to me, server-side problems which I won't be getting into, as soon as I'll get the world folder I'll add a screenshot of what I got so far.

Galaxy project, island #4

This island is going very, very quickly, seems like just started and almost half way done already, although that's just the island itself, not the whole challenge of the island, that is on around 20% right now. I'm not going to put screenshots in just yet, as then I wouldn't have anything to post in a week, and I won't finish it until then for sure since I've got some big exams coming that I'll have to deal with. Nevertheless, I'm happy that so far only one minor problem occurred, not like in the last island when I've had 2 weeks of struggling with /summon command blocks.

Galaxy project

Because next island I'm going to build will be a big one(space dock was a small one, and village was a medium one), the size of the lighthouse, it will take a while not only to build, but also to plan what I want in it, so it's not just a house in the middle with a little cave below it, similarly as with the previous ones, I want to use as much of the island as possible, after all, I am not making a short, 1 hour map, more like 1 day kind. Together with the big planet, all the others were pasted in, so they're ready to be built on the completion of the island #4 alone is ~4% and the whole 4th island is more like 1 % done(I am not yet saying why does these two things differ, patience is the key).

Galaxy project, Island #3 (part 3)

Took ages, but finally done with the 3rd island, the one that caused me most troubles with all the command blocks and spawners not working how I wanted them to work, I posted the picture of the island in the previous post, so not to repeat myself, and not to spoil it's whole inside, I'm going to give a screenshot of the entrance to the main temple inside of it. It's completed in 99% actually, since I still have a couple books to write, but that shouldn't cause much problems and should be done by todays evening, so I can start working with the 4th island. In the meantime, the secret easter egg is growing bigger and bigger...

Galaxy project, island #3 (part 2)

I know I've said I should be done with this by now, but I had a fair amount of problems on the way. Thus, so far I can only say that the island is ~60% complete but on it's way to the finish line. Below is a screenshot of the top layout, which can already tell some things about the island, although it's inner core is untouched by the sight.

Rainbow Beacon

While working simultaneously on the 3rd island for the galaxy, I've made an easy, nice and I guess already popular invention, using the colored beacon to make a whole rainbow spectrum:

Galaxy project, island #3 (part 1)

Continuing with the project, I'm making the 3rd island(precious two: #1 #2). This time it's bigger then the second one, although smaller then 1st one, so it will take more then a single week to complete, combined with the fact that I've been busy with other stuff, will probably end up with the complete island done in 2 weeks, completion so far: ~30%.

Galaxy Project, island #2

Inspired even more by YAW community, I started the creation of my own little galaxy themed map, I don't have couple hundred of pre-submitted planets like they did, but going slowly forward, created island #2 in the past week(#1 is the lighthouse of course). Here is a screenshot ofit from outside:

Armor stand dance

I have made some armor stands dance the well known gangnam style dance. Of course it is not some kind of a crazy 5 minute video clip with the whole song, after all considering that:
a.) each movement of each part of stands 'body' is a single command
b.) armor stands cannot bend knees nor elbows so it's impossible to actually show the complete dance; but I did show the most recognizable part of it.

If anyone would want to see the redstone behind it, or look at the dance him/herself, the download link is below.

Stand Sculptures

This week I made some stand sculptures, and for those who do not know what they are, it's basically using the new 1.8 Armor Stands to do different things, here is an example of a simple stand sculpture:

This sculpture is a very basic one, all it has is a pig with disable AI and an invisible Armor Stand right in front of it. Now usually armor stands cannot hold anything and are visible, this can be changed with /entitydata command, if in the {DataTag} spot {Invisible:1} is placed, the armor stand will turn invisible, but will still be there and take any items it's right clicked with. In order for it to hold an item, you have to do another /entitydata command, but this time instead of {DataTag} place {ShowArms:1}. If the armor stand would be visible, 2 arms will show, and when you right click the right one, it will take the item you're holding. This way you can make a floating axe. the second problem is to set the floating axe so it looks fitting, one way is of course to teleport the armor stand around, but it might leave an ugly angle of the axe. Although some teleportation will be required, without changing the rotation and angle of Stands Arm it won't look fine. To change the rotation you will have to replace {DataTag} in /entitydata with {Pose:RightArm:{Xf,Rf,Yf}} now, the X, Y and R represent X axis, Y axis and Rotation, the f after them is needed by the game to find it's what you want, not some random numbers. For example, to do a hand going straight down you would do: {Pose:RightArm:{0f,0f,0f}} now, from what I've expirienced while working with those I came to the following conclusion:

This shows the {0f,0f,0f} position, now if we would change X to 90 we would get this:
Now, if we would use the R coordinate, it will start getting harder, as soon as you would do {90f,90f,0f}, the hand would rotate and would automatically change to this:

Because together with the Hand rotation, the X and Y axises also change to whatever the hands position is at the moment, so in order to get the image below with R=90 you have to make Y=-90:

If anyone wants to do stand sculpting now, you know how to, here is two more stand sculptures I made:

[Project] Achievement parkour

As the title says I started a new project, achievement parkour. Basically it connects jumps that are getting harder and harder with minecraft achievements. Altough it's simple, it will be a fun parkour, neither long nor short. Working on some bug fixes in the Cnady Cane Lighthouse of Doom I couldn't finish it by this week, hopefully by the next one it will be done.

Candy Cane Lighthouse of Doom

Encouraged by the YAW community, I changed my entry to the JuJube galaxy project (previous post) to a standalone map, witch requiered more then few changes, especially the fact that 1.8 came out in the meantime made it hard, as it changed commands, making them not compatible with block Ids. Long story short, the difficulty is still very hard, so expect a lot of deaths. The inside haven't changed much, tried to keep it same, you might notice little changes, like the front of the lighthouse or some details in the spawning areas, contaminating the spawners.
Special thanks to (YAW) for their pre-test, that was fairly unexpected to be a pre-test. Download:

RAGE Parkour 2

As the title says, I made a new RAGE Parkour(link to the old one ->Curse). Same as in the previous map, You start on a flat world, near a village, and your goal is to jump your way to the top of the world, another similarity is that it also has models of ingame blocks at the top, but here the similarities end. Altough it's unavoidable to repeat the simple jumps, I tried to be original as usualy. Made a good use of 1.8 slime blocks and very old ladders to make jumps that are at the edge of possibility, personally, I don't think a parkour can get much harder then this. Here is some screenshots of it:

Blind Jumps:
Fence and iron bar jumps covered with beacons, fun!

Lighthouse

Lighthouse was made for "Jujube Galaxy" project started by a pair of youtubers:
YouAlwaysWin(YAW)
The idea was to choose one of 3 island sizes and build anything you want on it, I settled for a lighthouse, witch later on they called "Candy Cane Tower" due to the spirals going up like in the Christmas candy. Below are screenshots of the final build, once YAW will play it I'll post a link to the video. Also, below I've placed a link to the lighthouse itself
